Binbrook.
It is so nice that little Binbrook has a wonderful new place that has tasty baked goods, sandwiches and *gasp* pies! I have been once before and they didn't have their coffee machines yet. I ordered an amazing butternut squash soup and Italian cookie that were so yummy I couldn't believe my luck. I went again today to see if I could get an Americano and was happy to see the newly acquired machines. I looked for shiny, steamy machines but these were not them....I was a bit disheartened at first but continued to get a cannoli, cream puff and some other "chocolate ball" and drove home to taste and hopefully not be disappointed. Paparellas is not an eat in place, although there are a couple seats if you want to, where this place excels is the sweet lady that runs the cafe (Diana) and the amazing baked goods that they make right there. The coffee wouldn't be a focus of the visit, it's pretty forgettable but the cafe is not, it's splendid.
1) cafe Americano - $1.50 7/10. Coffee 8.5/10
2) roasted in house - brewed fresh but not roasted fresh
3) service - incredible, friendly, locally run 9/10
4) accessibility - lots of parking, easily accessibility off the main highway
5) flavour - not the best but tasty enough 7/10
6) Eco- friendly - compostable cups, not a focus (no soy or alternatives available) 5/10
7) cup size - just fine (small and large)
8) food - incredible, priced reasonable and good portions 9/10
9) local ingredients - no
10) wifi - no
*all treats are wrapped in a lovely box with ribbon, so pretty it's like a special occasion.
I made another trip for lunch and bought a coffee ($1.50 for medium) and it was delicious! I get my coffee with only sugar and the flavour was rich, mellow and very enjoyable. It makes me think that regular coffee is also going to be a focus for review...why not? I had a vegetable pot pie today and it was really great! 8.5/10 :D
